Description
Montreal, October 1970. The family of 12-year-old Manon is on the verge of falling apart: she and her little brother Mimi will be placed in foster care. Manon is revolted. Inspired by current political events, she develops a plan and takes an old woman hostage to claim the right to choose her future. Helped by her cousins Martin and Denis, she leaves the town with Mimi and the old lady, determined to find a refuge where they would finally all be free and happy. A film that is at once sensitive, funny and harsh, The Mongol Kings is the lucid look of children on the adult world, its lies and its betrayals.
