Angèle, born 8th in a musical family of 14 children from Prince Edward Island, is a pioneer of French-speaking music. An avant-garde messenger and musician with irresistible melodies, she recorded her first album Première in 1974, followed by an album in English. In 1977 the singer-songwriter triumphed with Libre and won a Félix for the best-selling French-language record in Canada (300,000 copies). The albums followed: There's a Star for You (1979), Chanter dans le soleil (1981), Noël XXX (1983), Paniquez pas pour rien (1984), Bonjour Madame Bolduc (1993), Transparente (1994), Noël c'est l'amour (1995), Amour (1999) and several compilations. What an impressive journey: more than 500 compositions, thousands of shows and animated series on television and radio. During her more than 35-year career, Angèle has received numerous distinctions and continues to communicate her message of hope with humor and authenticity. Finally a compilation which brings together his songs which have become classics, including the extraordinary “Grand-Pré”, which stands as a monument to his people and stirs up crowds both in Canada and in Europe.
