Description
Mikuan and Shaniss are inseparable friends. They grow up together in a tight-knit Innu community where the mother tongue and traditions survive within a few square kilometers. Mikuan is at the top of her class and lives with a loving family while Shaniss picks up the pieces of a neglected childhood. They promise to always stay together, no matter what. But at the dawn of their 17th birthday, their friendship crumbles when Mikuan falls in love with a white man and dreams of leaving this reserve. From then on, she will have to face the resistance of her people towards those who leave the community...
