A pure concentrate of catchy and imaginative music, Les Colocs: L'Intégrale 1993-2000 brings together three concerts by the group: at the Festival franco-ontarien in 1993, at the Spectrum in Montreal, two years later, and at the Festival d'été de Québec in 1999. In addition to successes such as Passe-moé la puck and Tassez-vous de d'là , we discover excellent surprises on this video box set.

We will remember, among other things, that with their very particular style, skillful and explosive mix of rock, reggae, scat and gypsy music, Les Colocs were a bunch of merry guys. In these concerts, alongside guests like Mara Tremblay, La Famille Botte or harmonica player Guy Bélanger, they left no room for melancholy, even if their lyrics often evoked a very harsh urban reality.

In addition to three hours of music, Les Colocs: L'Intégrale 1993-2000 contains short interviews with the founding members: the late leader Dédé Fortin (whose monologues on stage were absolutely delicious), Mike Sawatzky , Serge Robert (who became Mononc ' Serge), Jimmy Bourgoing and Patrick Esposito Di Napoli (died of AIDS in 1994). Terror in Chinatown , a crazy short film directed by Les Colocs themselves completes the picture. These bonuses clearly demonstrate that the richness of the group's universe was not only musical. To remember, discover or rediscover a free, honest, whole and unbridled group that left an indelible mark on Quebec music.
